Impact

This award was established to honor Gabriel and Sonia Campos who have attained personal achievement in spite of educational, cultural, and financial barriers while instilling the importance of family values, work-ethic and success in higher education in their children and grandchildren. Gabriel is a long-time classified employee of Mt. SAC and Sonia is a veteran employee of Cal Poly Pomona University. After putting their own college dreams on hold to raise their family, both Sonia and Gabriel dedicated their careers to working in higher education while tirelessly supporting their own children in completing degrees at SDSU, USC, and ULV. This award is given to first-generation college students who have overcome hardships while demonstrating academic and personal achievement.
