Sophia B. Clarke
Sophia B. Clarke Memorial Journalism Scholarship, part of The Osher Initiative for California Community College Students
Impact
Sophia Clarke started her association with Mt. SAC when the College first opened its doors in 1947. She, along with her popcorn wagon, became a virtual fixture at every game and event held on campus. She continued to operate the concession stand for over 30 years and remained a spirited fan of the College until her passing. This is only one of her many contributions to the College. This award recognizes an exceptional student who is pursuing a career in journalism.
