Michael Savoy Memorial Scholarship

This Scholarship honors the life of a quiet, intelligent, and kind man, Michael Savoy. Mike was a sweet and honest family man who was raised in Louisiana but embraced the Hawaiian culture. His love for fishing was nurtured early in life and throughout his years he pursued his passion for hunting. With a generous heart, Mike often used his skills as a professional computer programmer to fix or update computers for his family and friends. Unexpectedly, Mike was diagnosed with a brain tumor and with his wife, fought for 18 months. We miss his sense of humor and laughter the most. We hope to award this scholarship to a student that demonstrates involvement in service with organizations that promote cancer research, prevention and awareness; or students majoring in a field that will result in a career related to fighting cancer; and /or those students who have overcome hardships related to cancer.
