Cesar E. Chavez Scholarship

Cesar E. Chavez “possessed a deep personal understanding of the plight of migrant workers, and he labored all his years to lift their lives.” Awarded the Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor, posthumously by President Clinton, Chavez was lauded for having “faced formidable, often violent opposition with dignity and nonviolence.” Given in commemoration of the life of Cesar E. Chavez, this award recognizes an outstanding student with extraordinary academic achievement.
