Leticia A. Network Transfer Scholarship

Leticia A. Network Transfer Scholarship pays homage to southern California educators in the 1990’s and early 2000’s who came together to support the growing population of undocumented immigrant students seeking access to California colleges. Leticia A. was an undocumented student who entered UC Berkeley in 1984. She had been identified as an undocumented student and the university initiated a lawsuit against her. What resulted from that lawsuit was the landmark “Leticia A.” case, and the ruling that followed, served as the legal precursor to the California Dream Act. This scholarship recognizes a Mt. SAC Dream student, active in the Dream program, who is transferring in the upcoming fall to a four-year university.
