Joe Fierro Memorial Scholarship

This memorial scholarship, named after Joe Fierro (1939-2006), is established to honor students in the welding program. Joe dropped out of high school after being humiliated by an English teacher because he could not read. Despite this learning disability, he was a natural mechanical expert. He started as a welder and became a successful plant manager in the steel fabricating business. He added his creative ability to his welding skills and built a car from the ground up, including the molds to build turn-key models. He would be proud to honor students in the welding program.
