Ned Carter Memorial Scholarship, part of The Osher Initiative for California Community College Students

Ned Carter served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a master mechanic and machinist for Sunkist Field Research and Engineering Division where he managed an experimental machine shop. After retirement, he remained active as a consultant to Sunkist R&E and held several offices in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. The Ned Carter Memorial Scholarship was established in 1995 to honor Ned Carter. The scholarship supports a student enrolled in a pre-veterinary sciences program, another interest of the late Mr. Carter.
