SVA NatCon Application

The Student Veterans of American (SVA) National Conference (NATCON) is the largest gathering of student veterans anywhere in the world. With SVA chapters at over 1,500 campuses across the U.S. and in several countries abroad, Nat Con serves as a focal point in the academic year to share ideas, best practices, and network with student veterans, military-connected students, their families, supporters, and allies, as well as corporate, government, and nonprofit partners, and more! This year’s conference will take place Jan 3 – 7, 2027 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center.

Students interested in being sponsored by the Mt. SAC Veterans Resource Center to attend free of costs must submit the following interest form/application no later Thursday October 15, 2026. Eligible students:

  • Must be enrolled in Winter 2027
  • Must include a resume with form
  • Must have and provide proof of active LinkedIn account URL (Note that LinkedIn offers a free 12-month premium account for military/veterans). Ensure you have a professional headshot in your LinkedIn account profile (Mt. SAC Career Center offers free professional headshots. Walk-in basis, no appointments are needed but you can contact them for more information at (909)274-4510).
  • Participate in the following Mt. SAC specific SVA Nat Con Workshops, (participation does not guarantee selection, but it can increase your selection opportunities):
    -Friday, October 16, 2026 (10am-12pm)
    -Friday, October 30, 2026 (10am-12pm)
    -Friday, November 13, 2026 (9am-3pm) – Final SVA NATCON related workshop
    -Be available for a 15-minute in-person interview on Friday, November 20, 2026 (between 10am-1pm)

ADDITIONAL SELECTION NOTES: Those selected will be required to attend a MANDATORY travel meeting on Friday, December 11, 2026 (10am-12pm); Priority will be given to students who have never attended SVA NATCON and/or are currently using VA educational benefits at Mt. SAC. GPA may be used as a selection factor based on the number of applications received.
