Anthony Guzman Memorial Scholarship

The Anthony Joel Guzman Memorial Scholarship is to help students with their educational goals that have a dream of one day flying. Anthony had a love of aviation and dreamed of becoming a commercial airline pilot. He was dedicated, hard-working, and focused. He worked towards this goal from a young age of 15 and earned his instrumental rating a few years later at age 18. Anthony worked diligently towards his goals attending classes full-time at Mt. SAC toward his degree in Commercial Flight while also working full-time to help cover expenses and save for the cost of flying and building flight hours. He planned on obtaining his flight instructor license next so he could continue flying and build hours while working towards earning his Bachelor’s Degree. Tragically, Anthony was killed in a mid-air collision when he was a passenger in a Cessna which collided with another small airplane near Corona Airport on January 20, 2008. Anthony was only 20 years old.
